Transitioning Between Enrollment Management Jobs: Lessons Learned

This session will examine the important role of faculty in developing a successful Strategic Enrollment Management Plan at small colleges. We will review and discuss the”Secret Sauce”, why faculty leadership, involvement, and engagement throughout the SEM planning and implementation process at a small college can be a game changer. Enhancing faculty engagement as well as their understanding of SEM plan components, including digital marketing will be explored.

During a time of great uncertainty in higher education with the Great Resignation and increased student needs, learn how Baker College reorganized student affairs and student services to create more efficient and meaningful work for our teams, while transitioning from transactional support to proactive and holistic support. We will discuss reorganization, prioritization, and the importance of tuition revenue. You will take back a few action-oriented changes you can make to create a couple quick wins in your student success plan.

Even during the pandemic, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside maintained its commitment to increasing college attainment in its region by continuing to set historic records for the number of graduates and student success. These efforts were recognized in 2022 by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) with its Excellence and Innovation Award for Student Success and College Completion and a 4th place U.S. News ranking for social mobility among public colleges in the 12-state Midwest region.

Designing the right financial aid strategy for meeting your enrollment and net revenue goals for new students can be a significant challenge, but layer on the need to make significant gains in retention and the task becomes even more complex.
